Cemented carbide is the alloy produced by sintering carbide using iron group metal, such as cobalt and nickel, as a binder. As its primary characteristic, its physical property is stable, and high hardness and high strength can be maintained even at high temperatures. Especially, the WC-CO cemented carbide is the most excellent in mechanical property.
In general, cemented carbide refers to the WC-Co type. Our company handles a wide array of cemented carbides, including ultrafine particles and type K used for cutting tools, type V, which is excellent in resistance to abrasion and impact and used as a mold material, type E, which is used for tunnel boring machines (shield machines) and basic excavator claw, and non-ferromagnetic cemented carbide of the WC-Ni type, which is mainly used as a metal mold material for ferrite.
